From day one, CONWOOD Co., Ltd., as a socially responsible company, has not only put all of its efforts into producing the best-quality products that raise the quality of life for Thai people, but it has also strived to provide safe and healthy working conditions for all its personnel. To this end, the company’s health and safety management is divided into
three main areas:
Hardware Management: This area encompasses all aspects of the physical working environment, including buildings, machinery and safety equipment with the objective of ensuring that they minimise risks and accidents while maximising worker safety and health.
Software Management: This involves the establishment of operating procedures, guidelines, and workflow processes to protect the health and safety of employees while they are at work.
Human Management: This area covers all facets of HR in health and safety management, including safety education and training and cultivation of a culture of safety among staff at all levels. Furthermore, 12 Golden Rules have been drawn up and announced throughout the organisation that effectively safeguard workers against work-related accidents and injuries. Everyone who works at CONWOOD, as well as other SCCC subsidiaries, is required to strictly
comply with the rules.
In addition, to further improve the company’s occupational health and safety systems and ensure its ongoing development, CONWOOD Co., Ltd. has embraced and implemented the internationally-acclaimed TIS/OHSAS 18001: 1999 in all its operating units.
Since it was started in March 2007, the TIS/OHSAS 18001: 1999 implementation process has been systematically implemented, commensing with an initial assessment of the company’s health and safety management systems in relation to TIS/OHSAS 18001: 1999 requirements. This was followed by staff training, along with company-wide communication of new safety policies, goals, and objectives to familiarise all employees with the new systems. Furthermore, all operating procedures and work processes have been improved to bring them into lien with TIS/OHSAS 18001: 1999 standards.
As a direct result of the commitment and professionalism of all staff, CONWOOD Co., Ltd. was awarded TIS 18001:1999 and OHSAS 18001:1999 certifications from AJA on 18 October 2007.
